6 September (Saturday): Hindley Roses presents the Country Ho-down Fest at The Harrow Inn, Ashton-in-Makerfield – £3 entry. Singers, country music, line dancing and party dances for the kids. Stalls, tombolas, sweet stall, raffles with many prizes, face painting, festival hair, candy floss, decorate your own T-Shirt, bouncy castle, people are encouraged to come in best country outfits. 6 September (Saturday) Not Guns and Roses (“ultimate tribute to early Guns and Roses”)- The Boulevard, 19 Wallgate, Wigan. 7:30pm – 10:30pm. Tickets £11.55. more info here.
7 September – Sunday: Wigan 10K & Family Mile (Mesnes Park) 10:00 am start • £26 (early bird £22) One of Wigan’s biggest sporting events! A 10K road race through Wigan town centre with live entertainment, food stalls, and a family-friendly festival atmosphere.
9 September (Tuesday) Sunset Paddle and Paint, Scotman’s Flash, Wigan – £20 – £75 for family ticket. 6 – 8pm. An evening of painting and kayaking at sunset, in aid of Suicide Prevention Day, 8+ welcome – anyone 14 or under needs to be with a parent or guardian. Profits to ‘All Ears’, Wigan CIC which provides creative therapy to young people. More info here.
- 13 September – Saturday: Wigan Diggers Festival, Wigan town centre. 11:00 am – 9:30 pm • Free entry (stalls & drinks priced). A vibrant celebration of Gerrard Winstanley’s legacy with music, poetry, community, and real ale. More info here.
- 13 September – Saturday : MADD Arts Fest (Wigan Youth Zone)
11:00 am – 3:00 pm • Free. Family event. A creative takeover with art workshops, performances, an inflatable disco, DJs, ice cream, and more—fun for all ages. More info here. - 18 September (Thursday) – 21st September (Sunday), Sour Beer Festival – Wigan Central – Free entry. (but you pay for the beer) ‘Tart on Tap’ 20 hand selected tongue tinglers, face changers and down right G.O.A.T sour beers are coming to Wigan Central. More info here. Wigan Central also has live music every Sunday from 2:30pm.
19 September – Friday : An Evening with Jimmy Bullard (Brick Community Stadium)
6:30 pm • Ticketed, from £55 (includes dinner and entertainment). An evening with ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard featuring comedy, Q&A, and a meal.
