Tributes paid following sudden death of eight-year-old Wigan boy Louie Webster

Tributes have been paid to an eight-year-old boy from Wigan following his sudden death.

Louie Webster from Worsley Mesnes tragically passed away on Monday 15th June 2026, leaving his mum Becky, his family and the local community devastated. In a tribute shared online, Louie is described as “bright, funny and energetic,” with a “cheeky smile that could light up a room” and a personality that made him “impossible not to love.”

Louie was also described  always making people laugh, riding his bike with friends, or getting up to mischief at home, adding that he “lived life to the fullest” and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He was one of six siblings and shared a close bond with his younger brother Teddy (4), with the pair described as inseparable and often playing WWE together.

A GoFundMe page has been set up  by family friends to help support Louie’s family with the unexpected funeral expenses and to give him the farewell he deserves.

The fundraiser says: “At a time of overwhelming grief, the financial pressures that come with arranging a funeral are an added burden no family should have to face alone.

“Every donation, no matter how small, will help ease that burden and allow the family to focus on remembering and celebrating Louie’s life.

“Thank you for keeping Louie, Becky, and their family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness, generosity, and support will make a real difference to a family facing the unimaginable.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Thoughts with Louie’s family.
