East 17 will be at Wigan's Christmas Lights switch on

East 17 to light up Wigan for Christmas

East 17 are set to headline Wigan’s Christmas Lights switch on this month, bringing Christmas cheer to the heart of the town centre.

The family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, 23 November, from 11.30am to 6.30pm, with the main light switch-on around 5pm.

Visitors can look forward to a Santa parade, artisan markets, fun fair rides, and plenty of festive entertainment throughout the day.

It is part of ‘Frost Festival’ which sees a Santa’s Grotto at the Grand Arcade, which opens on the same day.

Wigan Council has also announced its free festive parking offer.

From Monday, 17 November, parking will be free after 3pm on all council-owned car parks until the new year. This is in addition to free weekend parking available year-round.

Councillor David Molyneux MBE, Leader of Wigan Council, said:

“We’re proud to be offering these fantastic events to kick off the season and get everyone in the festive spirit. From the legendary pop acts to the fun fairs, parades, and entertainment, there’s something for all the family.”

While East 17 bring the party to Wigan, Scouse singer Sonia will be headlining Leigh’s Light Up event on Saturday 14 November,  ensuring the whole borough shines bright this Christmas
