Wigan & Leigh Hospice’s much-loved Wigan Pub Walk is back on Saturday 16 May 2026. The event brings together supporters, local pubs, and the wider community for a full day of fundraising, fun, and fresh air.
Since it began in 2024, the Wigan Pub Walk has raised over £50,000 to support hospice care. Organisers are aiming to make the 2026 walk the biggest and best yet.
Participants will take on an eight-mile route through Wigan, stopping at a line-up of local pubs. Many of the pubs will offer exclusive deals to walkers wearing their event t-shirts and wristbands.
The 2026 Pub Walk destinations include:
Formby’s, Hindley
Kirkless Hall Inn
The Collier’s Arms
Two Left Feet
The Beer Matt (Red Rock Car Park)
The Boar’s Head
Forbes on the Lane

The Charles Dickens
Real Crafty
Refreshments will also be available at Red Rock Car Park.
Lindsey Butler, Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager at Wigan & Leigh Hospice, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the Wigan Pub Walk back for 2026. The support we’ve received from local venues and the community has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for another brilliant day. Every pound raised helps us continue providing specialist care for people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. We’re so grateful to everyone who signs up, donates, or cheers our walkers along the route.”
Important information for participants:
Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All participants receive an event t-shirt; additional shirts can be purchased on the day for £5.
Walkers are encouraged to raise sponsorship using hard-copy forms, collection boxes, or online fundraising pages.
The Wigan Pub Walk is a signposted walk, not a race, and there is no requirement to visit every venue.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead.
Anyone choosing to drink alcohol should do so responsibly.
Wigan & Leigh Hospice cannot take responsibility for inappropriate or irresponsible behaviour.
With community spirit, great company, and plenty of pub-side cheer, the 2026 Wigan Pub Walk promises to be a fantastic day out in support of a vital local cause.
