Adding to the personal touches of the day, Alan Gregory, newly appointed school governor and CEO of Pianos, Pies and Pirouettes CIC, played the piano in the playground while pupils sang along. He joined Lucy’s parents, staff, and the wider community, helping make the ceremony an unforgettable experience. For Alan, it’s part of an extraordinary week, which also includes his birthday:
“It was a great honour for the school and the children, and we hope that the Archbishop got as much out of the visit as we do, experiencing such a vibrant, diverse and fully inclusive community here.”
The Archbishop’s visit also offered a chance to see the ongoing restoration work at St Patrick’s Church, funded by a £1,000,000 grant from the Gubay Foundation. His presence highlighted the importance of faith, community, and remembrance, making the day one that the school will long remember.
The blessing came at the heart of what was already a very special week at the school. Pupils had celebrated St Patrick’s Day with a Mass led by Father Paul on 17 March 2026, singing beautifully for the community.
A wonderful day, and week for a wonderful community.
