Wigan Beer Festival returns again between 5th-7th March for its 38th edition, at its now longstanding home of Robin Park Sports Centre.
There will be 89 real ales, 66 craft and foreign beers, 26 ciders and 16 gins available during the festival, and there will be a free vintage shuttle bus between Stand A at the bus station, Wallgate in-between the two rail stations, and the festival site, provided by Wigan Transport Trust. Donations to the trust will be very welcome.
There will also be two hot food stalls, one from the popular LekkerEatDutch and the other providing a range of choices, including pies or course.
Entertainment will be provided on Friday evening at 8.30pm by The DeeVines, an R&B/Pop & 80’s tribute band, and on Saturday at 1.00pm by Ryan James, a male vocalist from Wigan, and at 4.00pm by Pemberton Old Wigan 8 piece Brass Band.
The beer festival will again be raising money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, from donations of cash and unspent beer tokens. Last year £1,890 was donated.
Opening times are 5.30pm-11pm on Thursday 5th March, 12pm-11pm on Friday 6th March and 11.30am-9pm on Saturday 7th March.
Entry is free on Thursday evening and Saturday after 5pm, and for CAMRA members at other times, otherwise it is £4. Everybody is asked to pay £15 at the door, which includes £3 for your glass hire, entry fee as applicable, and the balance of £12 or £8 as beer tokens to spend at the bars. Further tokens will be available to purchase.
Wigan Beer Festival is organised by Wigan CAMRA, a voluntary group campaigning for real ale and pubs, bars and breweries.
