Andy Burnham 10 points ahead in Makerfield by-election: most recent Survation poll
The most recent constituency poll has given Labour candidate Andy Burnham a significant lead in the race to become Makerfield’s next MP.
Survation publis its findings on on 4 June, placing Burnham on 49% of the vote, ahead of Reform UK’s Robert Kenyon on 39%. Restore Britain candidate Rebecca Shepherd was on 8%, while the Greens, Liberal Democrats and Conservatives each polled in low single figures.
The poll was carried out by telephone between 26 May and 1 June and surveyed 518 adults living in the constituency. Respondents were weighted by age, sex, ward and their vote in the 2024 General Election.
The findings represent a notable shift from Survation’s first Makerfield poll, which showed Burnham leading Kenyon by just three percentage points. The latest figures suggest Labour has strengthened its position as the campaign enters its final weeks.
The by-election, which takes place on Thursday 18 June, was triggered following the resignation of former MP Josh Simons. The contest has attracted national attention due to Andy Burnham’s return to parliamentary politics and the possibility of a future Labour leadership bid.
